THE BEGINNING
It began at I Sodi — two strangers, a shared love of needlepoint, and an unexpected conversation that would become Le Fil.
French for “the thread,” Le Fil represents connection — weaving together time-honored craftsmanship and contemporary design with a distinctly modern point of view.
What started as two separate ideas has become a full-service needlepoint studio reimagining the stitcher experience.
Picking up a business partner at a bar, technically.

Meet our Creative Director
Bicoastal Stitches discovered needlepoint by chance in the West Village, wandering into a small shop near her first New York apartment. What began as curiosity became a constant—an outlet for stillness and beauty amid the rhythm of city life.
After several years in finance, she left Wall Street to pursue a slower, more intentional way of living. In early 2024, she became one of the early voices in the needlepoint TikTok community, sharing her projects and perspective with a growing audience.
Now at Le Fil, she leads the creative vision—reimagining classic needlepoint through a contemporary lens. This launch marks only the beginning of what’s to come.
When she’s not needlepointing, she can be found wandering galleries, collecting books on design and art, or sketching new ideas for what’s next.

Meet our CEO
What began as a creative outlet soon became something more. Alexandra discovered needlepoint as a way to slow down—a quiet counterbalance to the fast pace of her career in digital commerce and brand building. What started as a personal escape evolved into a vision to reimagine the world of needlepoint.
Drawing on years leading ecommerce and brand strategy in fashion and beauty, Alexandra founded Le Fil to bring a more elevated experience to stitchers everywhere. French for “the thread,” Le Fil is both literal and symbolic—connecting generations of women, artists, collectors, beginners, and lifelong stitchers. The thread of a shared craft, passed down and reimagined. The thread of community—woven across generations, time zones, and DM chains.
At Le Fil, Alexandra oversees the brand’s creative and strategic direction—from the site and storytelling to marketing and analytics—leading a new kind of needlepoint house built with great care and intention for the modern stitcher.
When she’s not building Le Fil, she can be found running—probably a marathon—hosting friends, or cooking for the people she loves.
